The star midfielder Played in an advanced spot out wide and also did plenty of dirty work. Showed flashes of quality and scuffed an attempt high. Substituted late on by Rogers, a fellow player, after receiving a caution. 7

Jarrod Bowen Had the team's best chance before halftime, his shot well saved from the opposing goalkeeper. As Quansah hanging back, he had to provide width out wide although his balls from the touchline were inconsistent. Substituted for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

Harry Kane The decisive figure netting 77th and 78th strikes for his country. His first a trademark opportunist's goal and his next a classy headed goal following a clever run from his marker.
